Established in 1970 by Drs. Linnus Pecaut and Lynn Klein, we are a private organization offering a variety of individual, couples, family and group counseling services provided by licensed and board certified counselors, educators and intern/practicum students. Although now retired, both Dr. Pecaut and Dr. Klein have been retained as consultants. Now under the leadership of Clinical Director Cheryl Zepeda MS, NCC, LCPC, the center continues to utilize an interdisciplinary staff with diverse backgrounds. These professionals specialize in a variety of areas. These include depression and anxiety across the lifespan, and other psychiatric disorders, assessment and treatment of student underachievement, marital issues, life transitions, grief counseling, terminal illness and end of life issues, vocational/career guidance, educational services, and women and adolescent girl issues, just to name a few.
The goal of these services is to provide a secure, trusting, warm and healing environment for couples and partners, married or engaged, to express and work through issues surrounding marriage and family relationships. These may include issues of premarital preparation or difficulties, communication, conflict resolution, living with someone with mental health concerns that may be straining the relationship, sexual dysfunction, pre-divorce and post divorce, and children of divorce. Many couples erroneously believe that both parties must be willing to seek counseling at the outset. It is essential that the spouse or partner experiencing the greatest or most acute conflict initiate counseling. In time, the resisting spouse or partner will often decide to enter counseling as well. In addition to offering marriage and couple counseling, individual adult services are offered for a wide range of concerns across the lifespan.
we value providing a secure, trustig and warm environment. We value the individual concerns of each of our clients and in maintaining confidence, collaboratively developing measurable objectives, and using knowledgeable theory‒based practice that include reliable and valid outcome measures.
